The presenters will discuss internal investigations and other corporate actions in response to or in anticipation of a government investigation of your company.

• Identifying preliminary decision points, including whether and when to conduct an investigation; whether and when to have outside counsel perform it; and identifying a point person—be it in-house counsel, a special committee or others
• Performing basic steps of an investigation and the "do’s" and "don’ts" of each, such as witness interviewing challenges and addressing demands of the government during the investigation
• Understanding the results of the investigation, including privileged information, whether and how to report to the government, reporting to stakeholders, and the pluses and pitfalls of a press strategy
• Taking critical steps along the way (e.g., document preservation; privilege issues; indemnification and insurance questions; use of technical consulting experts)
